About Me

Hello, I’m Nguyen, a Fellow Member of the (UK) Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

I’m an audit professional with 15 years of experience. I created NguyenACCA – IFRS Academy to explain IFRS Standards in plain language, with practical examples that connect the requirements to real-world reporting.

Why this website exists

IFRS Standards are detailed, and the official text is written for technical readers. When I was [studying for my qualifications / working on my first IFRS engagements], I often wished for explanations that were clear, structured and focused on how the standard is actually applied. This website is my attempt to provide that: each article breaks a standard down into its objective, scope, key requirements, a worked example and the mistakes I see most often in practice.

My background

  • 15 years of professional experience in audit and consulting services.
  • Qualifications: ACCA, CPA,
  • Experience: external audit, financial reporting, consolidation, IFRS conversion, M&A and Due Diligence Advisory
  • Industries: manufacturing, retail, real estate, financial services
  • Based in: Vietnam

What you’ll find here

  • Step-by-step guides to individual IFRS and IAS Standards
  • Worked examples with journal entries and disclosures
  • A glossary of IFRS terms
  • Reference resources for IFRS standards

Who this is for

Accountants and auditors who need a quick, reliable refresher; finance managers preparing IFRS financial statements; and students preparing for ACCA, ICAEW, DipIFR or similar exams.

A note on accuracy

I work hard to keep every article accurate and current, but IFRS Standards change and their application depends on facts and circumstances. Content here is educational and is not professional advice. Please read the Disclaimer and always check the official IFRS Foundation text. If you spot an error, I’d be grateful if you contact me.
